Contitech to Expand Further in Hungary

The order volume of local subsidiary ContiTech Fluid Automotive Kft. has been continuously increasing in the last two years. The company currently employs 1,500 workers in Mako and another 700 at its Vac plant. According to the company’s CEO, production and income is growing every year, and the factories operate non-stop in three shifts, which makes a capacity expansion necessary. ContiTech invested €3 million in its local operations in 2009, €7.9 million last year and it is expanding from €3.3 million this year.

ContiTech is planning the construction of a €5 million rubber compounding facility in Nyiregyhaza, to supply raw materials to the its local air spring facility Phoenix Légrugó Technológia Kft. It could also serve ContiTech’s other local and regional operations, as well as external customers in the region.

ContiTech announced in October that it is expanding production capacity and adding new jobs at its headquarters in Hannover-Vahrenwald. The company has initiated investments in the double-digit million range that are to be implemented by 2013.

Thanks to the continuously increasing demand for automotive fluid hoses and hose lines, Contitech plans to expand production capacity at its plants in Hungary
