BUDAPEST, Hungary - The European Union has approved the reclassification of a nature reserve on which German car maker Audi wants to expand its base in Hungary, eliminating the obstacle for the almost €900 million investment, National Economy Minister György Matolcsy said on Thursday.
Brussels said the reclassification from a nature preserve was in the best interest of the public, Matolcsy said.
The investment will boost capacity at the plant to 500 cars a day from the second half of 2013, creating 1,800 jobs. Source: MTI-Econews
