Avtoframos: 2010 Production Up 70% at Moscow Plant

MOSCOW, Russia - Avtoframos, the joint-venture between France’s Renault and the Government of Moscow, produced 87,600 cars (62,800 units of the Renault Logan and 19,300 units of the Renault Sandero) in 2010, which is a 70 per cent increase compared to the previous year.

The company plans to significantly expand its model portfolio this year by launching production of the Sandero Stepway, Megane, Fluence and Duster cars. Additionally, it aims to boost the rate of domestically produced components from current 54% to 74% by early 2012.

Avtoframos has an annual production capacity of 160,000 units. The company increased daily output to 500 units in December by adding a third shift and hiring 600 new workers at the Moscow plant.
