Peter Homola (1962-2016)

VIENNA, Austria -- Peter Homola, the founder and editor of the Ceauto Newsletter passed away earlier this week. He was a brilliant journalist, who had a tremendous knowledge of the world's automotive industry, especially the Central and East European region and Iran. He was always thorough, accurate and had a great sense of humour. He will be missed.

He was born in Brno, Czech Republic in 1962. After primary school he went to technical school. He escaped from what was then known as Czechoslovakia to Austria at the end of 1981.

In the 1990s he was employed by Eurotax and also worked as a consultant to General Motors. His reports appeared in Automobile Revue and in a lot of regional magazines. His goal was to be published in every country in the world!

In the mid-2000s he became the editor of the Automobil Produktion Newsletter Osteurope, which lasted until 2012. He was the regional correspondent of Ward's Auto and worked as a staff member of the Auto&Wirtschaft magazine.
