Rába Awarded New Contract from Suzuki

The new agreement, set to generate an annual revenue of HUF 2.5 billion (app. €8.5 million), was concluded to produce rear seat frames and covers as well as headrest covers for Suzuki’s new generation model by Rába’s Vehicle Components Business Unit.

Rába Automotive Components Manufacturing Ltd. has been awarded a six-year supplier contract with Hungarian Toyo Seat Ltd., responsible for the Suzuki seat systems, against strong competition. The seat frames, seat and headrest covers will be produced by the business unit based in Mór, Hungary. The special features of the products include added armrests and covers with stitchings.

The newly concluded contract sees the expansion of Rába’s products supplied to Suzuki, reaching a full coverage of the products outsourced by Suzuki in Rába's field of competence. The six-year agreement secures Rába’s supplier rights for the whole life-cycle of the new model. The supplier agreement comes with a technology development programme.

The medium-term strategy of Rába Group’s Components Business Unit aims at developing a closer cooperation with Hungarian Suzuki Plc. and Hungarian Toyo Seat Ltd. to manufacture internationally competitive products and to be able to cater to a wide range of customer needs.
