This was announced by Delphi Poland spokeswoman Agnieszka Przymusinska, adding that the company plans to transfer production from its existing facility to the €50 million new plant by mid-2012. The investment will reportedly create some 260 new jobs. Delphi is currently in negotiations with its customers on key projects for the subsidiary company.
The Blonie plant, which started production in1997, is engaged in the production of engine management systems.
Delphi has four manufacturing plants in the country, located in Jelesnia, Blonie, Gdansk and Ostrow Wielkopolski. It also operates a technical centre in Krakow. Delphi Poland's customer base includes BMW, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault and Volkswagen.
