Volkswagen Jan-Sept Sales Hit 78,917 Units in Russia

September proved to be the most profitable month for VW in Russia as it sold 11,987 units, which represents a 96% growth year-on-year. Acording to RIA Novosti, sales of the locally built Volkswagen Polo sedans stood at 31,300 units, while the sales of Volkswagen Tiguan grew 10% to 11,000, and Volkswagen Golf sales rose by about 120% to 9,779 cars in January-September 2011. The company also sold 6,911 Touareg SUVs, up 82% year-on-year, 6,373 Passat cars, and 3,707 Polo hatchbacks, which is a 67% increase compared with the first nine months of 2010.
