Honeywell Starts Construction of Its New Turbocharger Plant in Slovakia

Diversified U.S. manufacturer Honeywell International Inc. started the construction of a new car turbocharger plant in the ’Zaborske pri Presove’ industrial park near the eastern Slovakian city of Presov. The first phase of the construction works is expected to be completed in the spring of 2012 and the plant will initially employ 446 workers, and 600 workers when it will reach full capacity.
Under plan, the newly created subsidiary Honeywell Turbo s.r.o. will produce 300 thousand turbochargers a year and consequently raise the output to 1.5 million units in 2015.
The company expects to receive a €19 million subsidy package from the Slovak government.
