German car maker Volkswagen will stop production at its Slovak assembly plant for two weeks starting July 18, due to summer holiday. The facility will resume operations on monday, August 1st, the company's Slovak unit said on Thursday.
Volkswagen Slovakia will use the following two-weeks for regular inspection and maintenance of the production equipment. During the holidays it will continue preparation works for the launch of its new small-size model, which is scheduled for autumn 2011. About 250 employees and suppliers will take part in the preparation works.
VW builds the VW Touareg, the Audi Q7 and complete car bodies for the Porsche Cayenne premium SUVs, in Bratislava.
