AvtoVAZ Phases Out the Kalina Sedan, Gears Up for Production of the Granta

AvtoVAZ will phase out production of the Lada Kalina sedan as of May 1st. Between May 1-15 the welding line for Kalina bodies will be adjusted as the company is gearing up for the production of its new low-cost high volume model, the Lada Granta. Assembly of the Lada Kalina hatchback and estate cars will be continued after the adjustment procedure. The Granta is set to enter mass production in October, and its sales will start by the end of year.
