Slovakian Lear unit has been awarded new contract by French PSA group

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - US-based Lear Corportaion will expand its Presov factory in eastern Slovakia and hire about 200 workers as it has been awarded a new contract to supply seating system components to PSA Peugeot Citroën’s local unit. - says a report on AutomotiveWorld.

The value of the contract has not been disclosed. The supplier plant will be expanded by 11 thousand square metres, with construction work already underway.

Lear Presov was established in 2007 and currently employs 860 workers. The plant is part of the company’s metal division, producing seat frames, adjusters and recliners. Its main customers include Audi, Fiat, Ford, Nissan and PSA.

Lear operates two production plants in Slovakia. The other facility is located in Senec and is a Just-In-Time plant to supply complete seats for PSA Peugeot Citroën Slovakia.

Lear Presov will supply seating system components to PSA Peugeot Citroën’s local facility.
