Eberspaecher to Start Production in Russia in June

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia - From June 2011 German exhaust system specialist Eberspaecher will be manufacturing in St. Petersburg, Russia. Eberspaecher Exhaust System Rus' first customer is Nissan. In future, the assembly plant will produce exhaust systems for a range of passenger car models. This places Eberspaecher in a leading position in the rapidly expanding Russian exhaust technology market.

Plans are in place for Eberspaecher Exhaust System Rus to produce 42,000 exhaust systems each year for Russian made Nissan X-Trail and Teana models using a Just-in-Sequence supply chain. At the same time, negotiations are already under way to supply other Nissan models as well as other vehicle manufacturers.

This represents another milestone in Eberspaecher exhaust technology's successful investment in the Russian market. In June 2010, Eberspaecher entered into a joint venture with AvtoVAZagregat, which subsequently has been able to secure several orders for exhaust system production. In addition to the St. Petersburg plant, Eberspaecher is currently planning to open another manufacturing base in Russia.
