MISKOLC, Hungary - German supplier Bosch, the second-largest foreign employer in Hungary with a staff of over 6 thousand, will create an additional 550 jobs by mid-2011 at its Energy & Body Systems division plant in the city of Miskolc, managing director Max Nitzsche told local daily Világgazdaság.
The HUF 6.5 billion (approx. €24 million) expansion of the Miskolc plant was announced by the head of the Bosch Group Hungary, Thomas Beyer, at the group’s annual press conference on 5 Ma last year.
Bosch operations in Miskolc comprise a plant belonging to the electrical power tool division, Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft, manufacturer and developer of power tools, and the automotive parts plant Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft., whose products include starter motors, generators, wiper systems, blower motors and actuators. The new manufacturing facility is planned to open by July 2011.
As the European auto industry gathers momentum again, Bosch is expanding.
